This painting reflects the feeling of beauty and space in the Great Outdoors and the connection between earth and sky. I'm always striving for the connection between these two elements and how one doesn't exist without the other. My work revolves around landscape but is an abstract interpretation from memories of place and the atmosphere that evokes a sense of awe and beauty. It is painted on a deep edge canvas and took many months to finally be resolved.

This painting is the second in a series of work that I have submitted it was painted after 'Follow your Heart'. It responds to the atmosphere on the island of Skye and how when the mist descends the landscape becomes enveloped in a veil which is dreamlike. My paintings are about the push and pull of the landscape and how they are at one at times and others really challenging each another. My work responds to these elements by using memory and moments of observation that stay with me bringing a sense of fleeting beauty that I try to evoke.
